A little bit about our Detachment
Our Detachment is small, but you won't find a friendlier place to have a drink and share a story or two.  In fact, that's one of the things that new members say about us:  "The first time I came in, I felt at home because everyone here spoke and made me feel welcome."

We have a horseshoe pit out back and a dartboard inside, just waiting for members and guests to get a game going.  Though we don't often have live music, we have a great CD player and members are always welcome to bring in more music to share.  We have some very talented professional musician members who sometimes have time to perform for us, and that's a real treat!

Each year we sponsor the Marine Corps Birthday Ball and we try to have it on November 10th if at all possible.  Tickets go on sale in September, usually, at the Detachment.  We keep it semiformal, but always honor the traditions with our reading of the Commandants' messages and the cake-cutting.  We welcome everyone to join us in honoring the Marine Corps Birthday.

We support many charitable causes throughout the year, giving support to both active duty and veterans causes, as well as to local community groups.  Some of the things we support are Christmas gifts for the Sims Veterans Nursing Home residents, Toys for Tots, shipping donated goods to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Empty Stocking Fund.

Each spring we have the Neil Whiteley Scholarship Fish Fry to raise funds to provide scholarships to Mosley High School Marine Corps JROTC seniors going to college.
